The grant is part of $728,648 made available to the state Department of Transportation by the Urban Mass Transportation Administration to assist private nonprofit organizations in buying vehicles and equipment to provide transportation for the elderly and handicapped.

VFW Post I To Mark 51 Years CAPE MAY — PetersonLittle Post 386, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will be celebrating its 51st year Nov. 25. There are two living members from the original charter. They are Bob Hand and Sam Perry. The first home of the post, in 1933, was upstairs at the Old Convention Hall with Bill Jaegar as first commander. President commander is James Lee, who has held the post for the past seven years. There are 271 members and -61 home association members. This past year the post won three honors at the state convention in Wildwood. James Lee was named state grand commander of the Cooties; Paul F. Parrinello won the first annual state award for publicity 1983-84, and the Ladies auxiliary won an award as the best dressed unit in the state parade.
