Soroptimist Club To Make Awards

CAPE MAY - Southern Cape May County Soroptimist Club, a branch of Soroptimist International, is again this year offering applications for two awards: a Youth Citizenship Award for graduating high school students and a Training Award for upwardly mobile women will be selected by a panel of impartial judges shortly after Dec. 1. Students who have not reached the age of 21 prior to July 1, 1985, will be graduating from a public or private high school and who have demonstrated service, dependability, leadership and a clear sense of purpose during their high school years are encouraged to submit applications for the Youth Citizenship Award. THE TRAINING Award is offered to promote upward mobility in mature women preferably who are

heads of households and i who are completing undergraduate programs or entering vocational or technical training. The award is granted to assist winners in their effort toward training and entry or re-entry into the labor market. The winner of the Youth Citizenship Award and the Training Award will each receive $100. from the local Soroptimist Club and will become eligible to submit their applications to the regional award board and, in the event of winning there, to the finalist award. The regional award for I Youth Citizenship is I $1,250.00 and the finalist I award is $2,000,00. The I Training Award for region I and finalist are $1,500.00 I each. Applications for the I I Youth Fellowship Award I are available from the Guidance Departments of | Wildwood Public and i Catholic High Schools, Lower Cape May Regional I High School and Middletownship High School. The Training Award applications are available from Mrs. Leonard of the Cape May County Vocational School Guidance Career Department.
