Wetlands Course t, In 'Art, Nature'

STONE HARBOR - A six-week winter art course for children is being offered by the Wetlands Institute beginning Saturday, Dec. 1. "Art and Nature" classes will be held 10 to 11:30a.m. on all Saturdays in December and the first Saturday in January. Art teacher Lisa Beard Barry of South Dennis will be the instructor for youngsters from second grade onward. "I PLAN to teach drawing and painting using nature as a model," she explains. "It's a first time effort for me although I have done the reverse: taught birdlife and marine life through drawing i courses." The course will begin with

sketching for two weeks. The third week, students will work with color pencils and crayons, and the last three weeks will focus on watercolor painting. Art supplies will be furnished by the institute. Her classes for the winter program are limted and ear ly registration is advised before the Dec. 1 starting1 date. For advance reservations, phone the Wetlands Institute at 368-1211 on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays during the public hours of 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Wetlands Institute is a 1 nonprofit organization 4 dedicated to education and research concerning coastal ecology.
