Pete's Racquet Tops V'ball League
CAPE MAY - Pete's Racquet Club took early control against the South Jersey Champions as the pinpoint serves of Donna Mazurek and the excellent net play of Ginny Sheretta paced the Club to an easy victory (15-6) in Game One enroute to a match sweep in the Women's Recreational Volleyball League. Game Two saw Pete's take control with precise serves of Judy Ricco and super setting by Stacy Sheretta. They never trailed and coasted to another win 15-4. In Game Three, Pete's again led early and controlled the tempo with nice spikes from Judy Mohler and Jo6ie Bade to cruise again 15-3. Pete's Racquet Club swept the match with an easy fourth game win, 15-3. Excellent bumps by Barbara Haynes and Cathy Smith paced the tfinners.
KONA REALTY and FNB-Toms River Tomcats battled tooth and nail during their match tie as each captured two tough games. Kona took a commanding 14-4 Game One lead behind the perfect serves of Sherri Layton. Nice bump6 by the Tomcats' Kathy Dever and Sue Longo helped them earn four more points (8-14) before Kona finished them off 15-8. Game Two was dose until Liz Fuller served six consecutive points to give Kon a 14-8 lead. Excellent bumps and\xxirt coverage by FNB's Alda Magill helped them narrow Kona's lead (11-4). Kona then regained the service and finished off the Tomcats 15-11. Kona took the lead 9-4 in Game Three, however, good net coverage by the

Kona, behind the dependable serves of Sherri Layton and the controlled bumps of Joanne DeCosta, narrowed the Tomcats' lead 14-9. The Tomcats regained serve and pounded in 2 final 1 points to split the match with a fourth game win, 15-9.
