The Angelus Chorus, under direction of Sherman D. Scull of C.M.C.H., will present its third Annual Spirit of Christmas Concert 8 p.m. Saturday at Avalon's Community Hall, sponsored by the Upper Cape Chapter of Deborah Hospital in conjunction with the Avalon Committee of performing Arts. Tickets may be purchased from members of either group. President of Avalon's Borough Council Jeannette Glazier is also president of the Upper Cape Chapter. Admission entitles one to an hour of seasonal music sung by a magnificently trained group of splendid voices followed by wine and biscuits. Plenty of parking is available at the hall on 30th Street and the beach, and tickets will also be available at the door. 'DON'T FORGET the plans of the Garden Club of Stone Harbor for the holiday season. We missed the program given Nov. 12 by Anne Saville for "Christmas Decorating All Through The House" but understand it was jampacked with ideas from this innovative gal to make it great to be home for the holidays. The Fairmount, Park House Tour of eight historic mansions decorated for the season by various Philadelphia garden clubs is still not quite sold out. The tour of homes will be followed by luncheon at Williamson's Restaurant, with its panoramic view of the city, in Bala Cynwyd, is scheduled for tommorrow. Call Nancy Ritchie at 368-2286 for reservations. Monday, Dec. 10, is the annual benefit auction for the club where we got our most unusual and appreciated gifts last year. Believe us, this is the easiest and least expensive way to avoid crowds to pick out a unique gift in every price category. It will be held at the Fire Hall at 10 a.m. as usual. LEARNED LAST week that Charles and Victoria Boettinger of 24th Street, Avalon, will be celebrating their 61st wedding anniversary Saturday. They have four children, 13 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren spread all over the United States, including Tacoma, Wash., Dallas, Texas, Florida, New Jersey and Philadelphia. Needless to say, they are proud of them all. We were chatting with Marie Spence about it and she well remembers when she and her late husband, George, used to play shuffleboard with Tory and Charles at the fondly remembered Sportsman's Tavern until 2 a.m. and then make a dash for Sea Isle City, where the boards didn't close 'til 3. Among others in the regulars were guys named Ducky and Rusty whose last names we couldn't recall. If you'd like to send the Boettingers an anniversary card, their Philadelphia address is 9356 Annapolis Rd., Philadelphia, Pa. 19114.

THE HOLIDAY spirit got

off to a rousing start Sunday, Nov. 18, with a wall-to-wall people benefit cocktail party given by the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer Nursing Agency at the old '76 House, located on Rte. 9 in Swainton, which they recently purchased. (Page 11 Please)
