(From Page 10) Cocktails were served in the old Broadway Lounge and it was quite a surprise to see gallant members of the order rushing ice and other supplies to the completely overworked bartenders, it was a
tremendous success in what we feel is a very worthy cause. From there we went to the victory celebration of the Stone Harbor Republican Club at Legion Hall, Stephen C. Ludlam Post 331. All the truly
dedicated workers were there like; Peg and Bill Schaffer, Nancy Ritchie, Delores and Dick Reese. Ralph Evans, Jimi and *| Jane Owings, Dede Harris, Romano and Bob Wilson, Jean and Whyley Christie, and many, many others. We were disappointed not to see either of the two newly-elected members of Borough Council, William Cathcart or Robert Boyer. We found that Cathcart was at the Eagles football game and as everyone knows, that one went down to the wire, so we symphathized with his plight, but never did find out why we didn't get to know Boyer better. Anyway, the rest of us had a ball with core joicers, lots of bully grub and plans for the future of the GOP. THE BITTERLY cold weather Nov. 19 scared quite a few people away from the S.H. Chamber of Commerce dinner meeting at Henny's. Membership Chairwoman .Pat Fitzpatrick never complains, but we'll bet she'd appreciate advance warning about a change of plans in dinner reservations. It's only fair to Henny too — he does a great job for us always. Featured speaker was David Blood, guidance counselor at Middle Township High. He pointed out how important it is not only for parents but future employers as well, to see that graduates be prepared for the real world when they finish school. Pat Fitzpatrick announced that the Christmas party this year would be held at the Whitebrier Inn Tuesday., Dec. 11, and in lieu of gifts which members have been asked to bring formerly, it was decided this year to sponsor a week's vacation for a needy child at the Helen Diller Vacation Home for the Blind. "It costs $250 per week per child, so please give (Page 12'Please)'
