houses on . tour, which include: THE EMLEN Physick House, a noted Victorian house museum designed by renowned architect Frank Furness and built in 1881 in the Stick style. The Abbey, Columbia Avenue at Gurney Street, built in 1869 for a Pen nyslvania coal baron and an outstanding example of Gothic Revival architecture, featuring a 60-foot tower, etched ruby glass windows, and some of the most elegant formal rooms in town. The Mainstay Inn, 635 Columbia Ave., built in 1872 as a posh gentlemen's gambling club, a classic example of the Italianate style, with ^4-foot ceilings and wrap-around verandas. THE WILBRAHAM Mansion, 133 Myrtle Ave., begun as a simple country farmhouse in 1840 and expanded and Victorianized in 1900 by a wealthy

Tours Feature Yule Lighting CAPE MAY - The heated "Victorian trolley" offers a front-row seat for the spectacle of festive Christmas decorations in Victorian Cape May on its increasingly popular Christmas Lights Trolley Tours. Leaving from the Information Booth on Washington StreehMall at Ocean Street, th4 guided tours wind throupKHit the old and new neighborhoods of Cape May to see the specially decorated homes and businesses of the village. A CONTEST sponsored by the Vintage Home Association is the impetus for many homeowners to decorate their homes with lights and special Christmas decorations. The tour usually lasts about one hour. Cards Date From 1840s Exchanging Christmas cards began in England in the 1840's. The cards were first introduced in the United States by a German immigrant, Louis Prang, who settled in Roxbury, Mass. Prang printed his first "Seasons Greetings" in 1873 and has often been called the "Father of the American Card."
Combination Tours Offered 9j CAPE MAY — During Vs the quiet winter months, m the Mid-Atlantic Center for 9 the Arts' (MAC) weekend & combination tours offer fl visitors an overview of T Cape May's famous Vic- ' torian architecture. The combination tours begin at the Physick Estate, 1048 Washington Street, with an hour-long guided trolley tour that covers both the East and the West historic districts of town. UPON RETURNING to the Estate, visitors are next guided through the lavish interior of the Physick House. These tours end on a festive note, with hot cider and goodies served in the Physick House kitchen. Each Combination Tour lasts about two hours. No reservations are necessary.
