Nice bumps by Gerry Griffin and blocks by Ernie Troiano kept Bowman from scoring heavily. Excellent play by Will Mendo helped Bowman build a 04 lead in game three but the perfect sets of Terry Brown to spiker Bill Bizaire led Breakwater to a comeback victory. Dekelco occupied fourth place after shutting out Buck's Electric 15-5, 15-9 and 15-10. The spiking of Ken Gaskill and Dennis Kelly carried Dekelco in the first game.

Perfect spikes John Alter and good net coverage by Ralph Schaffer and Ed Sykes dominated game two. BUCK'S ELECTRIC kept Dekelco scrambling behind the nice play of Chuck Welsh and Tom Cerrone Well-placed serves by George Burgess and consistant teamwork led Dekelco to the third game win. National Associates took two out of three fromv Delias Stores. Delias won the first game. 15-10. National Associates came back to win the last two, 15-9 and 15-10. In game three, Ken Ferrante's seven consecutive serves were not enough as the serves of Bud Keen and the defense of Tom Schollenberger helped National Associates prevail. Echek's Diesel swept J.T. Builders in three closely played contests, 15-12, 15-9, 15-11. Bud Eckel's hustling play led Eckel's in game one. The fine play of Greg Orsimarsi and Mark Matteucci led J.T. to an early lead but the excellent team hustle of Reel's

Diesel helped it prevail. Once again the excellent teamwork of Eckel's, led by the excellent net play of Jim Couhinan, paced victory in the third game. Avalon , Kona Take Tennis Contests

COURT HOUSE - Town Team Tennis action at Jersey Cape Racquet Club continues as Avalon Real Estate faced their competitors, Keen's Pharmacy, Nov. 11. Avalon took the first event as the ladies doubles team of Roni Zane and Pam Vexin won a close match over Eileen Millar and Diane Shaw 8-6. Keen's Pharmacy responded with a win in men's doubles as the team of Armin Stecher and Ed Evanchyk topped their opponents, Rick Ogen and Bill Soens, 8-6. IT WAS Avalon's turn to win again as the mixed doubles team of Mike Renza and Martha Turkington downed their opponents, Roy Smith and Pat Collier, also by a score of 8-6. Once again, Keen's came right back with another win in ladies singles and, once again, the score was 8-6 as Cathie Smith finished with a win over Avalon's Barb Kerr. • The team scores were even as Lionel Derosier and Scott Novick entered the courts for the last event, men's singles, the

match was decided as Derosier finished with a score of 8-2, giving Avalon Real Estate a win in that event and also a match victory of 36-30. KONA SPORTS and Cape Insurance began the evening's second match as Kona's mother-daughter team of Joan Hughes and Evelyn Miley won an impressive victory at 8-3 in ladies doubles. The men's doubles team of Bob Ansell and Mike Sciarra also continued the add victory games to Kona's tally as it finished 8-5 over their competitors. Luck was not with the Cape Insurance team this evening as it had to forfeit the next two events to Kona Sports. The last event of the evening was men's singles. Jake Williams of Cape Insurance finished ahead of Scott Swain 9-8. Kona Sports finished the match with a 40-17 victory. City Swim Team Gets 65 Try outs

CAPE MAY City Youth Swim Team began it 1984-85 season with an overwhelming turn out of 65 youths from, ages 7-15. This year's coaches, Len Benstead and. Jan Kellaway have expanded the program to include junior and senior divisions. There are ten hours of practice per week. The teaching includes fundamentals and advanced techniques of freestyle, backstroke, breastroke and ^

butterfly, as well as starting and turning. The team's annual Swim-A-Thon will be held Sunday from 10 to 5 at Cape May City Elementary School. Swim meets for this season include competitions against Ocean City, Vineland, Margate, and Millville. Booster Club Asks Support of Island

WILDWOOD - The Greater Wildwood Islander Junior Football Booster Club was formed recently at the Wildwood Recreation Center. The Booster Club will support and raise funds for the Wildwood Islanders Pee-Wee and Midget football teams, which play in the Cape May County League. Officers elected were: Edward Harshaw, president; Larry Lillo, vicepresident; Sam Duncan, treasurer; and Martha Brown, secretary. THIS PAST season the Islanders fielded about 34 players and eigh,t cheerleaders from Wildwood and North Wildwood. Next season the Islanders will be recruiting players and cheerleaders in the spring. According to Larry Lillo, spokesman for the team, "The Islanders will be looking for more players and cheerleaders from the entire island of Wildwood. We need support from the whole island. Last year we received funding from the City of Wildwood only. We want this program to be comparable to Little League Baseball. "AT THIS time we are asking civic organizations for donations, because we need a lot of money to get the program going. Once the organization has established itself, the Boosters will begin to have fund raisers." The Booster Club's next scheduled meeting will be 7 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 4, at the Wildwood Recreation Center. Firemen Plan New Year Fete RIO GRANDE -The Rio Grande Fire Co. is sponsoring a gala New Year's Eve Party at the Fire House 9:30 p.m. until 3 a.m., Dec. 31. The shoots will be held on Wildwood Boulevard, west of the George Redding Bridge, near the Gulf station and water slide. Proceeds will go to the New Jersey Jaycees' Summer Camp for Retarded Children.
