The grant, prepared jointly by Dr. George Grant, director of library services and the Jewish Studies Faculty, represented by Professor Fredric Brandfon, coordinator, and Professor Yitzhak Sharon, will provide funding beginning in January 1985, to ungrade Stockton's library resources substantially in Jewish Studies over the Christmas Luncheon STONE HARBOR - The men of St. Mary's Episcopal Church will hold a Christmas luncheon at the Whitebrier Inn in Avalon noon Dec. 12. ■ Reservations may be made with Ed Yeager. St. Mary's celebrates the Holy Eucharist 8 and 10 a.m. Sundays, with a coffee ( and fellowship hour following each service. Famine Aid Benefit Set ' CAPE MAY - A ham dinner sponsored by the United Methodist Men of First Methodist Church for the benefit of famine relief in Ethiopia will be held 4:40-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, in Lyle Hall of the church, 635 Washington St. Proceeds from the dinner will be funneled through UNCOR, the Methodist Relief channel. next two years. THE JEWISH Studies' faculty is preparing a list of library materials (print i and non-print) that will be ordered during the first year of the grant. Dr. Grant estimates that six i months will be required for the materials to be purchased and organized into the collection. An evaluative report of the initial purchases will be submitted by Feb. 1, 1985,

at which time proposals for books and materials for the next fiscal year will be considered. The collection funded by the foundation's seed money will eventually be used to present a request to the State of New Jersey for state support to develop the Stockton Library as an official New Jersey Regional Jewish Student Library Center ■* for all of South Jersey.
