_ Mews Notes from ■ * The Wildwoods Thomas Parsons 729-5768 _J

Have you beard about the turkey shoot in Wildwood? No, we are not referring to what seems to be an endless series of special, municipal elections, but a good, old-fashioned target turkey shoot! Sponsored by that super group, the Greater Wildwood Jaycees, the turkey shoot is slated for Dec. 9 and 16 and will take place in the area behind the Shell Station on the Middle Township side of the George Redding Bridge. The proceeds will go to benefit the Jaycees Summer Camps for Retarded Children. The unique event will begin on the mentioned days at 11 a.m. and will continue through 4 p.m. Further information can be obtained by calling Dave Goldstein at 729-5811. ••• "LOTS OF STUFF for sale" is the word out of Wildwood Crest Borough Hall as the municipality exposes for public sale all abandoned merchandise accumulated throughout the year. Motor vehicles, bicycles, radios, cameras watches, clothing. Name it and you can probably find it at the Wildwood Crest public auction sale. The sale will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, in the Municipal Court Room in Borough Hall, Cardinal Avenue ahd Pacific, if you are interested in the motor vehicles. The general merchandise may be inspected one hour prior to the auction time at Crest Pier with the general merchandise auction taking place at the Pier 10 a.m. on Dec 1L ROBERT FINEBERG, Island attorney and T-ball coach of merit, probably is not considering giving up his practice to pursue playing Monopoly professionally, but this astute practioner of the board game should be r~oud of his 15th place showing in the National Tournament in Beverly Hills. Bob's wife, Ginny, is the owner of the very busy Sandpiper Monogram ming Shop in Wildwood and we are all awaiting the world's first fully monogramed Monopoly Game! Santa Claus is coming to town and will be participating in the annual Greater Wildwood Christmas Parade Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. Joining Santa this year will be returnees from last year's parade: The Philly Phantic and Ronald McDonald! The Christmas Parade is annually sponsored by the Merchants' Association ♦ and the Greater Wildwood Jaycees. Further information concerning parade entries can be obtained through Harold Aron at Allen's Mens Store at Oak and Pacific Avenue in Wildwood. WE UNDERSTAND this year, Dave Goldstein, Jaycee member and • photographer of the event, is going to station himself in one location along the parade route. Last year, as Dave roamed the entire parade route, taking full advantage of his 6-foot-8 inch height advantage, at any given time as he paused to record the event, it was a though a temporary wall was constructed at the site, and only those children lucky enough to be

able to peer through Dave's 40-inch inseam could see the parade! Bernard Zyscovich of the * Miami architectural firm of Zyscovich and Grafton, visited the Wildwoods this week to survey the North Wildwood site proposed for the $22 million dollar international pavilion planned by the Probinsky family. Zyzcovich has received international acclaim for his firm's many projects throughout the Sunbelt and his work on the Sosua Beach Hotel and Casino in the Dominican Republic. Zyscovich spent several days getting a feeling for the area and for the beach and boardwalk locale. Preliminary sketches of the proposed structure should be completed soon and a formal presentation made to North Wildwood officials will be made early this spring. While in the Wildwoods, «

Zyscovich attended a cocktail party attended by many Island luminaries and promotional 1 heavyweights, where the proposed construction was a topic of conversation with tremendous input from interested Islanders. / ••• WHeJj you can't fit behind the desk, it is time for a maternity leave, and all of the Wildwood City • employees are wishing Barbara Gallagher the best of health as she prepares for her January maternity leave. The blessed event is scheduled for Feb. 6. Barbara is married to Jack Gallagher and is ' daughter of Ninette Verna, a long-time city employee who serves in the Department of Tourism. Barbara serves as a secretary in the Department of Administration and her "threats" to return to the job should not be taken lightly! We wish her the best on the tem-

porary leave and her personality will be missed in her absence ALSO HEARD from Dave Goldstein of the Jaycees that they will again be actively participating in the annual Christmas Food drive to assist needy families, slated for Dec. 15 and 16. the Jaycees will be joined by the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and the 4-H club in this very worth-while endeavor. Anyone interested in donating food may take the gift to the Wildwood Community Center either Dec. 15 or 16 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Also, the organizations will be going door to door and accepting food donations so buy a little extra or set something aside. It is for a very worthwhile cause. As a pleasant side note, congratulations to Goldstein and his lovely wife Marilyn, who are expecting their first child this March. David and Marilyn operate the Attache Motel in the Crest with Marilyn's mother, Ruth Weiser.
