Breakwater Adds < : Tor Volleyball Lead

CAPE MAY - In Men's Recreation Volleyball League action, Eckel's Diesel defeated Delias Stores three games to none action on the Nov. 23-24 weekend. The scores were 15-6; fi>-6; 15-6. The first game saw excellent teamwork by Eckel, highlighted by perfect digs by Bud Eckel. The second game was basically' a rerun of the first as Eckel was paced by the excellent spiking of Joe Genovese and Mike Moore. The spiking of Shep Taylor [ was the only highlight for Delias Stores in game three. Eckel's was led by Tom Eckel and Marty Holmes as they combined with the rest of their team to finish a successful evening. BREAKWATER Electric continued to stay atop of the standings as it shut out J.T. Builders three games to none. The scores were 15-5; 15-9; 15-5. Breakwater took an early 8-1 lead in game one as it

Keen 's, Cape Shore Win Team Tennis

COURT HOUSE - In Town Team action at < Jersey Cape Racquet Club < as Apex Realty and Keen's 1 Pharmacy faced each I other in the first match of | the evening. Keen's took an early lead as its ladies doubles team of Diane Shulke - Shaw and Mary

Soens finished on top 8-3. Apex came right back to win men's doubles with Bob Hughes and Scott Smith scoring a 9-7 win in a close match against Ed Evanchyk and Armin Stecher. It was a big night for Keen's Pharmacy, however, as it swept past its opponents in the next three events. KEEN'S MIXED doubles team of Pat Collier and Roy Smith scored 8-2 to win that event. Cathie Smith, of Keen's Pharmacy, also scored 8-2 over her opponent in Ladies Singles. The evening's first match ended with Scott Novick winning men's singles 8-4 to give Keen's Pharmacy a 39-20 match victory. The second match was a close contest between Avalon Real Estate and Cape Shore Realty. First on the courts was ladies singles action, which resulted in an 8-3 win for Tracey Hall of Cape Shore. Avalon Real Estate took the next event, as Lionel Denwier finished ahead in men's singles 8-3 over his opponent. Cape Shore came back to win ladies doubles as the team of Pat Delaney and Mary Fittipaldi took that event, also by 8-3. MEN'S DOUBLES action also resulted in victory for Cape Shore Realty as Zack Chavez and Ron Hewitt finished on top by a score of , 8-5 in a close contest against Avakm's Bill Soens and Mike Renza. The last event of the evening resulted in a big win for Avalon Real Estate as the mixed doubles team of Carol Donovan and Dave Kerr steamrolled over their opponents 8-1.

The win wasn't quite enough to give Avalon the edge, however, and Cape Realty went home the winner by 28-27 to win the match.
