["Helping Hand Fear The Holidays
During this holiday season. The Herald and Lantern is once again publishing a list of needs of various organization s- in Cape May County. They 'represent but - a few of many such organizations that help people
f ' in various ways throughout the year. Illness — problems — hardships can strike at any time. During this season of the year, readers wishing to send dona-
tions can learn about the services of some of the worthwhile organizations that help their fellow man. ^ While financial help is always needed — there are other ways
to give of one's self — volunteer time, food, toys, clothing, small personal items. These can say to another human being, "Here is my Helping Hand. You are not alone. ' -Libby Demp Forrest
PLAY TIME — Curtis Miller, -director of Wildwood division. Cape Human Resources, slops by program's day care center for a chat with Aaron Hunt, of West Cape May: Chaneil Simpson, of Cape May. and Jacqui Pruszinski. of Wildwood. Volunteers are needed at the center as well as toys and children's books.

Cape Human Resources, Inc. is a private non-profit agency serving disadvantaged people. Many people who "fall through the cracks" turn to its three centers in Wildwood. r Whitesboro and Woodbine when emergencies strike in their lives. Funded through a community services bloc grant, the centers provide job training and placement, weatherization. medicine, and day care. A newly opened craft shop located at
15 S. Main St.. Court House sells items on consignment to help gifted people become self supporting. A "nutrition cafe" provides meals to hungry people at the Whitesboro center ; a day care facility is located in Wildwood. Donations of toys, money, food, clothing and furniture are always needed. Volunteers are sought for clerical jobs, transportation, child care and to mann me nutrition cafe.
WOODBINE DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER DeHirsch Avenue Woodbine, N.J. 08270 CONTACT: Ruth V. Lorenzo, 861-2164
Woodbine Developmental Center is home for over 700 mentally retarded males ranging in ages from 8 through 94. Some "fellas" will go home for the Christmas holidays, however many will not." A network ; of volunteers, special friends, organizations, churches, and dedicated staff will be providing Christmas for the clients who have "no family /no family contact". Money donations assist with purchasing radios, records, recorders and electric razors.
Also needed are donations of personal items — deoderants, soaps, shaving cream, lotions, shampoo and hair tonic. Severely handicapped clients enjoy lap robes for their wheelchairs. Games, musical toys, playing cards, batteries, puzzles (large pieces of 100 or less), coloring ' books, crayons, paint sets, i sports magazines, wallets, change purses, arts and craft i supplies and yam help provide . enjoyment for the fellas . throughout the year.
