AVALON - Carolyn Bur- I bank. Chief of the Avalon I Rescue Squad, announced s that response to their ap- i peal letter has been very good and most have asked for the.free vial of life being | offered. ' The rescue squad has < purchased 1,000 vials, i stickers and forms for distribution. They are all free and the squad's members are going door to door to deliver them and to offer help filling out the forms and attaching the vials to be used in an emergency. The- forms contain such information as might be necessary in an emergency. including name, address. age. medical history and current medication.

Also doctor's name, i hospital preference, insurance coverage and numbers. . ONCE THE form is completed it is rolled and plac- i ed in a red and white vial which is than taped in the refrigerator on the upper right hand side with an identifying label placed on the front of the refrigerator. This alerts rescue squad members, doctors, firemen and police that you the resident has filed the necessary information should an emergency ever arise and in this way speed treatment and assure that

is correct for the 1 ^.individual. To obtain the vials, call 1 the Avalon Rescue Squad > 967-3411. Pickups Of Brush < Slated AVALON — The borough Department of Public Works has announced that brush pickups will be made Thursday, Dec. 29, Friday, Dec. 30, and every Friday in January. The department has purchased a chipper which will grind the brush into much and make it unecessary to transport it to a landfill. To prevent damage to the chipper, residents are asked to follow these suggestions: place unwanted brush at curb; do not tie it into bundles; place no limbs or stumps larger than three inches in diameter or four inches in depth. Housholders must dispose of any larger pieces themselves. For further information, call 967-7697 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. -4:30 p.m. R.C. Seliger is administrator of the public works department.
