COURT HOUSE - A J Christmas walking tour j covering historic and j contemporary homes in the j community, sponsored by j the county chapter of the ? American Red Cross, will j be held 1-4 p.m Sunday Among the buildings on the tour are many of historic interest, dating back into the 18th Century To be covered by the tour | are: The Jonathan Hand Law Office, now the headquarters of the county Red Cross chapter: the Old Court House, a Greek Revival style structure dating back to 1848; the First Onited Methodist Church, built in 1828, with unique stained glass amidst fancy moldings and varied of lines, and a spindled bell tower, one of the few still in existence. ALSO. THE home of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Willis, built at the turn of the century and marked by unusual elegance and an entryway enhanced by stately columns; the home t of Mr and Mrs. Albert Karaso. a Victorian home circa 1880. with unusual gingerbread trim enhanced by its period color scheme. Others include: the Alfred Cooper Cottage, owned by Mr and Mrs. Andrew Melchiorre, a Victorian homestead complete with 11 -foot ceilings, tiled mantelpiece, and winding cypress staircase; the Nathaniel Holmes House. Mr and Mrs. Robert Ritterhoff, which goes back to 1781. Originally built in Stone Harbor, it was moved to its present location. The home of Mrs. Raljfi Johnson, circa 1830. a pre Victorian county clapboard farmhouse bounded by picket fencing ; the home of Dr and Mrs. Edward Tinney, circa 1850. a preVictorian country cottage; the home of Mr and Mrs. John Beitel. circa 1810, a refurbished Colonial saltbox surrounded by wetlands. 2 Cape Artists Exhibit CAPE MAY - The works of two county artists are on exhibit at the Ware Gallery, Ardentown, Del., announced the Cape May County Art League. The artists are Mary Federici, a freelance commercial artist from Wildwood, and Helen Clark Dilday of Cafc* May, a watercolorist. Mrs. Federici has developed a technique for fine -details. She works not only with a brush and paper, but also in fabric and wax. SHE RECEIVED her B.A. in drawing/painting and textile designs from Glass bo ro State College. She is an art instructor at the league and was a codesigner of the Victorian (. Mural project here Mrs. Dilday. native of a coastal town in Maine, was artist in residence at the art league for five years. She studied at the Portland School of Art and the Geveland School of Art, and with artists in New York City. She also performed with a theatre group for three years. She was also a decorating designer for drapery fabrics and wallpaper. Their works will be on display through Dec. 23 at the Ware Gallery in the Candlelight Theatre Building, Ardentown, which is open 12-3 Tuesday through Friday and Saturdays by appointment. i Yule Party ' AVALON — The annual Recreation Department i children's Christmas partywill be held 1 p.m. Satur t day, Dec. 22.
