Set Surplus Butter Distribution in Jan.

RIO GRAND F - Federal surplus butter will be distributed at six county locations in January to eligible senior citizens plus recipients, of public assistance, food stamps, supplemental security income, WIC, and Medicaid A single senior citizen can have an annual income up to $9,213 and still be eligible to receive five pounds of butter in onepound units A couple can earn up to $12,432 The Cape May County Welfare department is cooperating with Cape Hun ran Resources in the distribution. Eligible senior citizens need to bring either proof of income or participation in one of the above programs, or sign a selfcertification form attesting to their incomes Advance registration is being held now at all Cape Human Resources divisions in Whitesboro Wildwood. Open RIO GRANDE - Seashore Road is now open to traffic between Delsea Drive i Route 47 ) and Route 9, completing the second of three construction stages A traffic signal has also been installed at the intersection of Delsea Drive and Railroad Avenue Work on the final leg of Seashore Road, between Fishing Creek and Ferry Roads, will resume in the spring. HolidayPeace Vigil Set CAPE MAY - The se cond Annual Christmas Vigil for Peace will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Washington Mall, Friday at 7:30 p.m The evening will begin in the sanctuary with prayers for peace given by local clergy and will continue in front of the church with a candlelight vigil, songs and ca roles. After the vigil the group will proceed to the lobby of the Carroll Villa Hotel at the Mad Batter Restaurant, 19 Jackson St. HERE FRIENDS can learn more about the efforts being made towards peace around the world and in Cape May and how they can participate in this endeavor There will also be cake, hot cider and music The coalition invites all local clergy to participate in this vigil for peace with Rev Cass Shaw of the First Presbyterian Church and Father Paisley of Our Lady Star of the Sea.
