Type-a-Thon Set To Fight Leukemia

WILDWOOD - This I month, students at i Wildwood High School will be pounding the keys to raise money lqjifthe fight against leukemia. The students will be participating in a Type-A-Thon sponsored by the Southern / New Jersey chapter of the' Leukemia Society of America, Inc." Mrs. Patricia Da vies and Mrs. Alice Bornement, teachers in the Business Department, will be coordinating the event. Mrs. Davies noted that the event is open to all students in the * school, regardless of typing ability. •THE STUDENTS will obtain pledges for each correctly typed word, so even less experienced typists can raise funds for leukemia,'' Mrs. Borneman explained. "We're hoping for a very enthusiastic response from the- student body and the community." Leukemia kills more youngsters than any other disease, and strikes many more adults than children, she said The money raised by the students at Wildwood High School will be used for research to fight "this disease, as well as to help local victims of . leukemia, she went on.
