"Residents of the Cape May County area who receive Social Security checks will receive a new form from the Social Security Administration in the mail during January," announces Del Brooks, manager of the Social Security Office in WilJnrAfvi 0
"The information on the form will be used to help j beneficiaries determine if ^ they must pay an income o tax on their benefits under j a recent change in the ^ law," Brooks said. "Only ten percent of .1 those people receiving a Social Security checks will j have to pay any income tax ^ on their benefits. If you are j single, you will pay no tax a at all if your income, in- j eluding one half of your a Social Security benefits, is j under $25,000, or under o $32,000 if you are married, j including one half of your ~ combined benefits," he said. Brooks added, "If you > have any questions about
the statements, which could be received by the end of January 1985, call us at Toll Free number, 1-900-200-1099. If you have questions about payment of taxes, call the Internal Revenue Service at 1-800-424-1040.

SSI Checks To Be Early Monthly Supplemental Security Income (SSI) checks which are normally delivered on the first day of the month, will be delivered on 12/31/84 instead, according to Del Brooks, manager of the Wildwood Social Security Office. "Benefit checks are mailed early when the usual delivery date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday." Brooks said. "In these instances, the checks are dated and delivered on the first day before the first day of the month that is not a weekend or holiday."
