Mews Notes from The Wildwoods Thomas Parsons 729-5768

ON DECEMBER 17TH. the New Jersey Legislature passed the necessary law that would allow for the construction of two aquariums in the State of , New Jersey. One without a doubt will be located in North "Jersey" while the other is slated for the often passed over area of "South Jersey." High on the list of sights is of course, Atlantic City - isn't it always! But, what better sight than the Wildwoods! Wildwood is a family, resort of reknown. and while the resorts often struggle with petty politics and misdirected promotional efforts, the establishment of the aquarium might just be what the resorts need to revitalize a sagging tourist economy. The key to establishing the aquarium rests in community action! Many tourism heavyweights that I have spoken to are already writing letters, and it seems that a concentrated effort could surface to lobby for the Wildwoods as the sight for the tourish attraction. Presently, Assemblyman Muziani has mentioned Ocean City as a possible sight, but how about Wildwood? Assembly Muziani, former Wildwood mayor and frequently rumored candidate for the Wildwood public relations job, certainly understands the economic impact and the unusually receptive site that the Wildwoods would be. . write to him and explain your feelings. Assembly Muziani has always been a responsive legislator, and I am certain he would give full attention to your commentary. Shirley Colunvbo, Postmaster of Yfe-e.* | Wildwood Post Office, extends her appreciation to all patrons who "rubberbanded" their mail, it reportedly made life a lot easier this holiday season! According to Columbo, stamp sales were up 10% over the last Christmas I Season while the volume of I mail coming into the I Wildwoods remained about

the same. Stamp sales for the webk before Christmas were up over $8,000 from last year, and that translates into a incredible ,40.000 stamps more than 'last vear. Now that's a lot bf Christmas cheer flowing 'through the mails. LATE NEWS: Effective Tuesday evening, North Wildwood City Council appointed Ralph Johnson to fill the vacancy on City Council. Johnson, who resigned his position as president of the North Wildwood Board of Education to occupy the seat, seems to be an excellent choice for the council position. However, his input and enthusiasm will be missed on the Board of Education.
