Avalon: New Rates On Water , Sewer

>VALON - Following a public bearing, final action on new water and sewer regulations will be taken by the Borough Council 10a m Thursday, Dec. 27. Water rates for residential, commercial, and industrial customers, with the size of the meter first, consumption of water allowed on mi'nipium quarterly charge in gallons, and the minimum quarterly charge, in that order For meters 5/8, inch by 3/4 inch, 10,000 gallons, minimum charge $22.50; 3/4 in. meter, 15,000 gallons. $33.75; 1 inch meter, 25,000 gallons, $56.25; 1ft in. meter, 50,000 . gallons, $112.50; 2 in. meter, 80,000 gallons, $180. EACH LIVING unit such as apartments and efficiency units but not limited to these will be charged $22.50 per quartet and be allowed a minimum of- 10, 000 gallons per quarter regardless of the size of meter that is con-

nected to the building Any water used in excees of the consumption allowed on minimum quarterly charge will be charged at the rate of 90 cents on each 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof The minimum quarterly charge for thi» service will be for the calendar quarter in advance and will be due and payable on the first day of January, April, July and October, except thSt the Jan. 1, 1965 installment will be extepded to Feb. 1, 1985 METERS WILL be read semi-annually for the April 1 and October billings, and the excess charges ( gallons used in excess of the minimum for two quarters) billed in arrears Construction rates will include a charge of $20 for each day or fraction thereof for a meter to measure water consumption used in construction. Water used in construction shall be charged at the rate of 90 cents per 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof. Bills will be rendered at^

the end of each month A penalty of one per cent per month or fraction thereof will be attached to all bills for charges not paid within the date on which the bill is due and payble, except, if the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or Holiday, no penalty will be attached until the second day following the Saturday, Sunday or Holiday. If not paid then, the penalty will be calculated from the original due date. Effective Jan. 1, 1985 each property will be charged rents, rates, fees or other charges for the direct or.in- ' direct connection with or use of services of the borough sewerage system as follows: A minimum charge as determined by Schedule A and, where applicable, Schedule B below Any water usage in excess of that set forth in Schedule A shall be charged at the rate of 90 cents on each 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof.
