WhippporwillvT ops Men's Power Play

CAPE MAY - Whippoorwill Campground took over / possession of first place in men's power volleyball with a four-game shutout of Faunce Enterprises. The scores were 15-13; 15-11 ; 15-5; 17-15. An excellent save by Bill Holt and spikes by Steve Faragher helped Whippoorwill capture the first game. In the second game Whippoorwill took an early 7-0 lead behind the excellent spikes of Faragher. I Faunce's came back behind the serve of Jerry Miller, bumps by Jack Costello and the spikes of Andy Butler. Whippoorwill regained the lead, however, and. never looked back. Game three wag the only contest that was not close as the sets of Tom Swenk to Faragher proved to be the key for Whippoorwill. In game four, the spikes of Steve Faragher and Greg Shultz were consistenly on the mark for Whippoorwill. Excellent serving and the perfect hits of Mark Yourison of Faunce Enterprises tied the game at 14 but Whippoorwill prevailed

in the end. y / THE POTTER moved into second place by winning three of four against Lighting Dimensions. , Lighting Dimensions won | game three by the score of 16-14. Potter won their games by the scores of .15-11; 15-12; 15-5. Lighting Dimensions took an early lead in game one behind the dinks of Ted Ferrante. The Potter eventually recovered as spikers Bobby Jackson and Stu Cohen pounded home the points. Game two had frequent lead changes as "good bumps by Potter's Tom Roth and spikes' by Jim McKinley and Scott Hiller proved to be the difference. Lighting Dimension's Jim Papale and Ted Ferrante were on the mark with their spikes to lead their team to victory in game three.
