Time Out Dining Guide

THERE IS SOMETHING about the turn of the year that gives a lift to the spirit. The sun is turning again toward the pole of the horizon. The days are lengthening - But alas, the cold is strengthening. Yet one feels a gradual momen- " turn as the days climb up the slope toward spring. • • • This is the time for ordering seed catalogs, making plans and alas, going over the books. The tax man cometh soon - it is time to sift through receipts and pay stubs and forms from the old year. It takes a little getting used to writing thfe new year on checks and letters. But it's 1985 alright - and just fifteen years away from a new century It's closer than you think. Winter teaches one to make good use of time while one waits out the blustery days and stormy nights. January is a good time of year for cleaning closets and drawers, for organizing letters; it's a

good month for putting the holiday snapshots into a family album. When the weather man predicts a period of deep cold, gather about you the people and things you love . best. Give them your time - they will help mellow out the deepening cold outdoors. • • • A hearty meal in the company of good friends warms the days and evenings of the January cold. Here are some places we warm up to anytime: BELLEVUE TAVERN. Located at 7 South Main Street in Cape May Court House, the Bellevue Tavern attracts the crowd from the court building down the street, county employees and legions of sandwich eaters who are well acquainted with the Bellevue's thick, satisfying tavern sandwiches. % The tavern sandwiches would do the Earl of Sandwich proud. They are heman style ( but the gals love 'em too) ; loaded with slices |

' » of the freshest meats and cheeses. You choose what you want included - the Bellevue carries out your wishes to a T. Come on over to the Bellevue, sit down and feast on a tavern sandwich. GOLDEN MARLIN CAFE. A lot of places in Cape May County shutter up as soon as the cold hits, but The Golden Marlin Cafe at 25th and Dune Drive, Avalon stays open year round and customers really appreciate being able to drop in for the Snack 'n' Sandwich men served Thursday through Monday. Lunch is served 11 a.m. to 3 p.mv; dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. The bar menu is available until midnight. The Friday Happy Hour is 4 to 6; Monday Night Football is a tradition at the Golden Marlip. 4 G'S. The 4 G's at the crossroads ©Hits. 9 and 47 1 in Rio G/atode has been a noted eatery for a long time, but the quality of its food continues to bring customers back time after time. Emphasis is on Italian and seafood dishes, and the idea is to order either familiar or not-so-familiar foods, and expect to be indulged with the best the kitchen has to offer. You can safely bring the kids here (they are going to find plenty to their liking on the menu). The 4 G's is a warm, comfortable place to come every season of the year. Unfailingly fine food all year round. PILOT HOUSE. A relax(Page 20 Please)
