Captain Saved by Chopper

CAPE MAY - A local fishing boat captain, stricken si sea, was taken safely to Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital by Coast Guard helicopter recently. The 90-foot fishing vessel Elise G. radioed Coast Guard Group Cape May at 11-p.m. Dec. 18 that its captain, Wayne Halbruner, 51, was suffering from an internal ailment which required medical assistance. Station Cape May launched a helicopter with a hospital corpsman aboard and it flew to the Elise G.'s position 64 nautical miles southeast of Cape May. At the scene, Halbruner was hoisted aboard and flown back to land, arriving at the National Guard
