Cape. May Winter Rec Schedule Told
CAPE MAY - The city, which announces the winter recreation schedule started Jan. 7, and runs 10 weeks through March 17. The schedule consists of 45 different programs including three that are brand new. Further information cap be obtained by calling the Department of Civic Affairs at 884-8411. CAPE MAY - The city is offering the largest winter recreation schedule to date, with 47 different programs * to be Offered in the 10-week • schedule which began Monday. Several new programs are being offered: A Senior Citizen Swim Clinic is being offered to provide instruction and analysis of swimming strokes and techniques for each individual. This new course is designed specifically for senior citizens. It will be held on Mondays 4:30-5:30 P.M. at Cape May City Elementary School SEVEN-WEEK course on Ballroom Dancing will be offered for couples and singles. Dot Burns will teach all of the classic ballroom steps — foxtrot, waltz, chacha, rhumba and jitterbug. Ibis rlass will be held 7:30-9
p.m. Sundays at Convention Hall. A new computer course will also be offered in our Winter Program. In Introduction to Computers, Radio Shack TRS-80 computers will be utilized in this introductory course in the fundamentals of computer operation. This course is geared to individuals with little or no knowledge of computers. Sonie of the courses are being taught by new instructors. John Wilsey will teach the gymnastics class at the Franklin Street Civic Center 8-6 p.m. Wednesday's Jan Kellaway will be the ne% teacher for P.M. Delias, Breakers Volleyball Victors
CAPE MAY — Delias Stores took two of three games against Bowman Builders in league action. Bowman won game one 6-4. Delias Stores won the last two 15-5, 15-11. Game one saw frequent , lead changes but nice bumps by Bowman's Will Meedo and spikes by Steve Steger made the difference. The eight consecutive serves of Bob Hoff and nice spikes of Dave Barikian gave Delias the upper hand in game two. • Delias held onto a small
lead in game three. Nice sets by Gary Kocher to sinkers Shep Taylor and Dave Barikian gave Delias the edge at the end. THE U.S.C.G. Breakers held on to first place while winning two of three games against National Associates. National Associates won the first game 15-5. The Coast Guard came back to win the last two 15-8 and 15-7. National Associates took game one behind the serves of Mike McGlaughlin and spikes by Tom Schollenberger. The Coast Guard came back in game two behind the nice bumps by Mark Townsend and spikes by Wayne Plocher. Spikes by Norm La Bounty helped National Associates in game three. The Coast Guard prevailed, however, behind the defense of Plocher. NATIONAL Associates came back later that evening to take three straight from Cape May Mobile Estates, by 15-1, and 17-15. The consistent serving of Bud |(een and Mike McGlaughlin helped National Associates in the first game. Eight consecutive serves by La Bounty helped National Associates to a quick win in game two. National Associates took game three in a very tight contest. Cape May Mobile Estates had nine consecutive service points by Bob Vance. Defensive play by Joe Carson kept the Mobile Estates in the game. Cape May Mobile Estates did not do any better against Dekelco as it lost three games. The scores were 15-3, 15-3, 15-6. Dekelco was led in game one by the perfect spikes of
Ken Gaskill. Dekelco's excellent court coverage, including perfect digs by Rich Hawley, made the difference in the second and third games. STANDINGS U.S.C.G.
