Time Out — ic Dining Guide \ I!

By Libb| Demp Forrest IT'S A GOOD TIME of year for a good book by your side, ready to pickup when wintry days and nights force us indoors. There are some hardy souls who will bundle up and step outside no matter what the

weather. But most of us v prefer the quiet comforts of s a warm radiator or wood 1 stove, something good to I read, a bit of mending or an s indoor project to wile away i a blustery evening. i For the next couple of weeks, there's a good i " _ I I

chance we're going to experience winter's grip. It happens sooner or later — this winter later than usual. Try to think of winter as the resting as the Earth follows her course around the sun. ordains the time of sowing and the time of reaping as well as a time of rest. The good cheer of a good meal is always a picker upany season of the year, but even more so in the winter. Here are some of our favorite restaurants open for the winter crowd : FLANDERS HOTEL. There is virtually nothing that comes close to dining at the long established Flanders Hotel brunch served Sundays at this famous hostelry where the preparation and presentation of food is an art. The very finest eggs, hot cakes, bacon, sausage. Seafood New burgh, quiche, fried chicken, chicken a la king, fresh fruit, salads, cheeses, fresh breads, pastries and juices are served in the vintage atmosphere of one of Ocean City's most noted addresses — on the Boardwalk at 11th Street. The cost is $9.00 per person. Reservations are suggested. Telephone 399-1000. DEAUVILLE INN. Strathmere's Carpenter Family host your dining pleasure at the Deauville Inn, Willard Road on the bay in an atmospheric location that offers standout food. We drove to this scenic location last weekend tp enjoy the "Saturday Night Special" 7- prime rib for $14.95. There are plenty of less expensive choices on the menu, but every once in a while you want to treat yourself — and we were jn the mood for prime rib(s. I The Deauville Inn chef prepared it exactly to our order and we went home happy. Of course, we topped the evening with a large wedge of old fashioned apple pie served warm. Hubby wanted the Irish Coffee. Everything was perfection. Other menu choices include seafood, pastas, meats and poultry. Recommended: the veal cutlet, tender and beautifully prepared for $11.95. The Deauvtfle Inn is open for luncheon and dinner. • • • .* URIE'S REEF & BEEF. Winter's the time to enjoy (Page 21 Please)
