N Butter Giveaway Slated Jan. 21-25
RIO GRANDE - Cape Human Resouces, Inc., the county -lead agency for distributing federal surplus Food, announces an update for the January butter distribution, Jan. 21 through 25, to individuals and families who qualify in Cape May County. Persons receiving (AFDC) Aid to Families With Dependent Children, (GA) General Assistance, Food Stamps, Medicaid,
SSI, and WIC are automatically eligible. Proof of I D- is required. Other eligible participants must provide proof of income. Only one person per household may apply. Pre-registration at Cape Human Resources, Inc., Divisions ends Friday. Applicants are advised to bring a bag to pick up the butter. Powered milk will also be available. Distribution will take
place as follows: Monday, Jan. 21, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.. Cape Human Resources, Inc., Whites boro Division Main St., Whites boro, and 12 a.m. -3 p.m., Victorian Towers, Washington St. Cape May. FIRST BORN — Edward "Pete" Peterson III was the first buby born In Cape May County this year. Weighing in at six and a half pounds, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Peterson II (center) of Rio Grande, arrived at 11:05 a.m. New Year's Day in Burdette Tom tin Memorial Hospital. His parental grandparents, Edward Peterson I (left) and Mary, (right) also of Rio Grande, visit the newcomer after his arrival.
Another Laura 's CAPE MAY - The city has been looking to acquire a tenant willing to fix up its 1,260-squa re-foot solarium store No. 5 on the promenade. Monday night, the 'town council opened the lease to public auction, with the bidding to start at $20,000 a year rent fpr four years. And that's exactly what the high bid was, furnished by Laura's Fudge of Avalon and Stone Harbor. The rent is to be paid in three equal installments due May 30, June 30 and July 31 of each year. The premises are to be used as a retail store only, and the tenant is required to make substantial improvements to the property *~ at his own expense.
