Temporary } Budget Down CAPE MAY - City council approved a temporary municipal operating budget Thursday night of $1,037,000 — for three months, or 25 percent of last year's. A final budget is to be adopted sometime in March. Until then, city departments "will have to work within that (temporary budget) framework," said Mayor Arthur Blomkvest. Meanwhile, negotiations will continue with unions representing police, firemen, public works and sewj er personnel who were left without new contracts when their old ones expired Dec. I 31 Council also adopted a temporary water and sewer budget of $498,896 and reap 1 pointed attorney John L. Ludlam as solicitor, for $75 an hodr. Blomkvest praised Ludlam at a work session last Wednesday, as "having the highest integrity" despite criticism leveled ,at him several months ago by a county grand jury in connection with Ludlam 's duties as solicitor for the Middle Township Sewer Dis- 1 trict, Court House. "That was blown way out of proportion by the press," Blomkvest said. "I have no 3ualms whatsoever about ohn Ludlam. I've kno(vn him for years, and I know him as having the highest integrity. We're not concerned about that (criticism) at all." The council also reappointed Bruce Graham Monday night as city engineer, at $55 an hour. Graham is with Van NoteHarvey Associates Consulting Engineers, of Court House and Princeton. Meeting Set COURT HOUSE - "The Advantages of Breastfeeding" will be the topic of the January meeting of the Court House La Leche League 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16.
