CAPE MAY — The Coast Guard Breakers remained in first place as they defeated Eckel's Diesel in two of three games in men's recreation volleyball. Eckel's won the first game 15-13. The Coast Guard won the last two games 15-5 and 15-7. Eckel's Diesel took an early lead in game one but lost it as Jesse Danner had six consecutive serves for the Coast Guard. Eckel's regained the lead late in the game behind the hits of Tom Eckel. The Coast Guard won the second game rather easily behind the serves of Wayne Plocher. The Coast Guard took a 7-1 lead over Eckel's
in game three. Eckel's came back to tie the game at seven behind the hits of Mike Moore and Tom Eckel. The Coast controlled the game from there behind the blocks of Steve Metis and Wayne Plocher. DELLAS STORES won their three games against Bucks Electric. The scores were 15-10, 15-13, 15-7. Bucks Electric stayed close behind the serves of Robert McLaughlin and Robert Boyd. In the end, however, the serves and spikes of Chuck Howard propelled Delias Stores to the victory. Delias took an early lead behind the nice serves of Shep Taylor. Bucks Elec-
tric came back later in game two behind the play of ET Sykes and Ralph Schaffer. Delias regained the lead and took the game behind the serves ofChuck Howard. Delias Stores took a big early lead in game three behind the power serves of Ken Ferrante and never looked back. BREAKWATER Electric won two of its three games against National Associates. National Associates won game three 15-10. Breakwater won games one and three 15-8 and 15-5. Breakwater's Herb Hudson had seven consecutive serves to give his team an early lead in game one. CAPE MAY - The first games of the city's Ybuth Basketball League were held at the Elementary School. In Junior League action. Model Cleaners defeated First Jersey State Bank 8-7. Model Cleaners were led by Mike Zurawski, who had six points, and Tony Norris, who chipped in with a basket. a The First Jersey Team
was led by Jacob Vernon, who had 4 points. Jerel Tatum chipped in for a basket. IN THE OTHER Junior League game. Casale's Shoes beat Kiwanis Club by the score of 12-11. Frank Ramirez scored all 12 points for Casale's while Kevin Freeman had all 11 points for the Kiwanis Club. In Senior League action, the Kiwanis Club defeated Casale's Shoes 53-15. Clint Freeman provided most of the action by scoring 40 points for the winners. Scoring help was also provided by Don Cornell, who had 6 points, Kevin Freeman. 4 points, and Kerry Hazel, who had three point. The Casale team, playing without one of the best players in the league, Matt McGaffney, was led ' by Tom Johnson, who had 11 points. Kevin Olsen and Frank Ramirez chipped in with a bucket apiece. In the other Senior League game. Model Cleaners defeated First Jersey 49-22. Model Cleaners had an all around effort as six of their players scored points. Scott Holden led his team with 13 points. Tommy Reid scored 10 points from the center position. Gary Frazier also had 10 points. Further offense was provided by Joey Norris, 8 points, Mike Zurawski and Aaron Fretz. 4 points apiece. First Jersey was led by Mike Chelius, who had 11 points. It's big man, Matt Dean, chipped in with 10 points and Gino Castinello had one.
