A g Board to Hold Dinner
TUCKAHOE - Over 275 fanners and rural people will meet 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, when the Cape May County Board of
Agriculture holds its Annual Venison Dinner at the Tuckahoe American Legion Home here. John N. MacLeod, senior
county agent, said that the dinner will be served family style and the entree features a choice of venison or beef. . Leslie C. .Rea of West Cape May, president of the Board of Agriculture, will serve as toastmaster for the program. Chairman of the dinner committee is Harold H. Shaw of Marin o r a . Committee members include George W. Belts of Petersburg, Elizabeth E. Corson of Ocean View, Louis M. DiLuzio of Tuckahoe and Marshall Howey of Villas. SHAW SAID the main purpose of the dinner is to honor a person for his or her contributions to agriculture and rural life. The name of the award winner is kept secret until the night of the dinner. The dinner chairman also said that the annual venison dinner is now in its 31st consecutive year and has become a tradition in the county. This year's program will also feature awards to the outstanding county 4-H young man and woman of the year for their ' achievements in the 4-H program. This award is presented to persons who have exhibited leadership through the County Extension Service Educational Program and have made significant other leadership contributions to community and county improvement. Committee chairman Shaw urged those interested in obtaining tickets to act quickly because the event is usually a sellout. Tickets may be obtained from any member of the board of directors of the County Board of Agriculture or by contacting Betts, ticket coordinator, at 628-2415 during the day or 628-2266 in the evening.
