Innovative Year for Firemen

4b WILDWOOD - The past year was one of progress and innovation as well as activity which included 1,776 runs for the city fire department, reports Wildwood Local 50, Firemen's Mutual Benevolent Association. During 1984, the paid firefighters started a fire drill program for local schools, put on a public awareness-safety show, provided and instructed CPR classes, started a blood pressure program, and presented a fire prevention program to the local schools during Fire ' Prevention Week. THE REPORT, made by Larry M. Lillo for the FMBA's shows: Runs for 68 structure fires, 27 automobile fires, 29 refuse fires, and 19 spills/leaks of flammable liquids. There were also boat, chimney and grass fires,.

along with malicious false i alarms, alarm ' malfunctions and bomb scares. The fire department < responded to 793 lifethreatening situations due to injury or illness, and

made 605 runs for fractures and lacerations. CPR was administered 25 times, eight firefighters were injured, and the department's vehicles logged 22,000 miles.

Lori was a star athlete at Wildwood Catholic High School, earning all-county honors in basketball, softball, and field hockey. u / A varsity basketball!' player her freshman year/ jat Dayton, who gave up' sports to concentrate on\ her studies, she finished her prescribed courses in three and one half years, and earned a 3.3 grade. m In her last two years, she I played field hockey and I was vice president of the J Irish Club.
