O.C. Pastor Plans To Retire

OCEAN CITY - Monsignor William P. McCorristin, pastor of St. Francis Cabrini parish, here since 1968, will retire Jan. 31. In announcing Msgr. McCorristin's retirement, Bishop George H. Guilfoyle expressed deep gratitude to Monsignor McCorristin « for his long and dedicated service to the people of the Diocese of Camden and wished him abundant blessings in the years ahead. Msgr. McCorristin was born Dec. 30, 1911 in Millville. His seminary studies were taken at St. Charles College, Catonsville, MD, St. Bonaventure Seminary,

Allegany, NY, and-Mt. St. Mary's Seminary, Emmitsburg, MD. He was ordained in St. Mary's Cathedral, Trenton, May 1, 1937. FIRST ASSIGNED as associate pastor of Holy Spirit, Atlantic City, Msgr, # McCorristin also served as associate pastor of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Camden. He received his first pastorate in 1945 at St. Matthew, National Park. Later he was pastor of St. Joan of Arc, Camden, St. Paul, Stone Harbor, and 6 Immaculate Heart of Mary, Woodlynne. In the 1960s Msgr. McCorristin was chairman of

the diocesan commission for property and building. It was in October 1974 that he was named a Prelate of Honor with the title "Reverend Monsignor."

COLD SPRING - At the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service of the Cold Spring Presbyterian Church (Old Brick), 780 Seashore Road, the pastor, The Rev. Fred C. Bischoff, will give a sermon entitled "ARE YOUR SINS FORGIVEN?", based on Psalm 32. Supervised nursery is provided for pre-schoolers.

Sunday School classes are held in Price Hall at 9:30 a.m. and adult class id the church at 9:45 a.m. The annual congregational meeting will be held Monday in Price Hall beginning with a covered dish supper at 6:30 p.m. Yearly reports will be given and election of officers.
