Member Of Year CAPE MAY - Commander James Lee has been named "Member of the Year" for 1984 by Peterson-Little Post 386, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Lee, who has been commander of the post for the past seven years, is also grand of the New Jersey Military Order of Cooties. Under his leadership, the post has grown from 65 members to its present membership of 263, with 100 members of the home association. The post building has been remodelled, with a new hall, new bathrooms, and a new roof nearing completion. The post won three state awards last year. Library Can Help On Taxes COURT HOUSE - The Cape May County Library has resources available to assist the public in filling out federal income tax forms, according to Leonard Szymanski, head reference librarian of the library. The materials are prepared and provided by the IRS in cooperation with the nation's libraries. Commonly used such as the 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ and 1040X as well as the commonly asked for schedules are available on site and all the 90 1984 Tax Forms and Schedules are in the reference department in photocopyiable form. Many IRS publications are available for reference. ONE THAT can help taxpayers prepare their individual tax returns in Publication 17, Your Federal Income Tax. Publication 1194, especially designed for libraries, is a set of the IRS's most requested publications and a helpful reference guide. Taxpayers wishing to receive recorded tax tips via their telephones can pick up a brochure on TeleTax Publication 1163. The brochure lists various tax topics which can be accessed by using either a push button or rotary dial phone. While county librarians are not expected to serve as tax experts, they will be able to direct the public to these many helpful tax aids.
