New Post For Hess

DAYTON, O. - Dr. George C. Hess, son of George W. and Mildred Hess, of 831 Weeks Landing Rd , Erma, has been named to chair the Wright State University Department of Chemistry. In the position, Hess will oversee 16 faculty members in a department that published 59 articles, books and reports and received over

$125,000 in research grants last year. Hess, who also serves as associate professor of chemistry, joined Wright State in 1965 as an assistant professor. He previously served in a postdoctoral position at Pennsylvania State University 1964-65. Hess has been a member of the American Chemical Society since 1958, and has held several offices in the Dayton chapter. He is also a member of the American Association of University Professors and of, the executive committee of the Ohio Valley Chromatography Society.
