CAPE MAY - On the first four Saturdays in March, the Mid Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAO is sponsoring Combination Trolley/Physick Estate Tours to provide an over view of Cape May's Victorian architecture Scheduled for 1 00 p.m., 2 00 p m . and 3:00 p m each Saturday afternoon.
these tours begin at the Emlen Physick Estate. 1048 Washington St., with an hour long guided trolley tour that covers both the East End and West End Historic Districts Upon returning to the estate, visitors are guided through the interior of the Physick House, a 16 room mansion designed by
renowned architect Frank K urness and built in 1881 in the Stick Style TWO RECENT developments in the Physick House restoration are of particular interest to visitors Both the Formal Parlor and Music Room have been furnished with bold late Victorian carpeting made specially in England for the Physick House in a style popular in the 1880s In addition. Curator Charles Miller has com pleted his marbietzing of the ground floor conser vatory in a vivid mixture of yellow , brown and white Ending the combination tour, visitors are served hot cider and goodies in the Physick House kitchen Tickets are on sale at the entrance to the Physick House No reservations are necessary Combining Shore Life And Study SEAVILLE — Summer vacation time can be learning time, says the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium, which has its field station here The consortium is accepting applications for its Marine Studies program, which offers credited courses in marine pnd coastal studies for commuter and resident students THE COURSES are open to college students, high school seniors, or anyone interested in learning more about the shore Included are short-term. 1 credit seminars, month long 4 -credit courses, and chances for independent study for the qualified Courses are based at Sandy Hook in the north and Seaville in Cape May Coun ty.
