CAPE MAY - Eckel's Diesel stayed in fourth place in men's recreation volleyball with a three game sweep of Bowman Builders with scores of 15-4, 15-8 and 15-10. Eckel's won the first game on the bumps of Jim Counihan and serves of Marty Holmes. In the second game, spikes by Bowman's Gary Cardaci kept Eckel's scrambling for the return but Eckel's Joe Genovese countered with dependable spikes Eckel's opened an early lead in the final game but Bowmans came on strong near the end on bumps by Jeff Rutherford and spikes by Will Mendo to make the game close NATIONAL Associates remained in second place with a three-game shutout of Buck's Electric with scores of 15-8, 15-2 and 15-6 Excellent serving by Bud Keen and dinks by Don Shiffendecker carried National Associates to the win in the first game National Associates' teamwork and saves by Mike McLaughlin led to their victory in the second game National Associates took the final game behind the serves of Norm LaBounty and net play of Greg Arnold. DEKELCO STAYED in playoff contention by winning 9 of 10 games this past week. They defeated Dekelco in two of three games Dellas won the first game 15-13 while Dekelco won the final games by scores of 15-8 and 15-13. Nice spikes by Dellas' Charlie Futcher and Shep Taylor led Delias in the first game. Powerful spikes by Dave Matagese led Dekelco in the second game and bumps by George Burgess and spikes

Pete's, Kona Vie For V'ball Crown
CAPE MAY - Regular season champion Pete's Racquet Club advanced to the championship game by winning 3 of 4 games against FNB-Toms River in semi-final action in women's recreation volleyball. FNB won the first game 15-4 but Pete's came back to win the last three 15-9. 16-14 and 15-3 FNB took off to a big lead in the first game as Gina Cardaci's serves could not be returned by the opposition. PETE'S TURNED things around in game two behind the serves of Judy Ricco and bumps by Cathie Smith. In the third game. FNB held on to a small lead and came within one point of the win as they were led by the serves of Gina Cardaci. Pete's came back and got
the win behind hits by Linda Martin and serves by Stacey Sherretta. Pete's held on to the momentum and easily won the last game of the match with excellent teamwork THE RACQUET Club will be playing Kona Real ty for the championship as the regular season champs defeated South Jersey Champions in three straight games by scores of 15-2. 15-2 and 15-0. Kona took the first game behind the serves of Tasha Jordan and the net play of JoAnne DeCosta. In game two. Kona was paced by Liz Fuller's sets to Vicki Shaw and the defense of DeCosta Behind the play of Lisa Stadalman and Sherry Layton and eight consecutive serves by Fuller.
