'Maximizing Life' Course Scheduled

COURT HOUSE - Extension Home Economists in Cape May. Atlantic, Cumberland and Ocean Counties will launch a new home economics course. "Maximizing Your Life". Classes in Cape May County will be held on Tuesday afternoons starting April 9. This four-session course was designed to help those 55 years of age or older deal with important issues and concerns affecting their lives. The class sessions will focus on major decisions in nutrition, clothing, housing and financial management. MORE THAN 22,000 adults in Cape May County are age 60 or over, accor ding to the County Department on Aging. THE ENTIRE series will focus on how lifestyle changes affect the decisions people make on food, clothing, housing and use of finances as they age. Interested adults are encouraged to attend the entire series, but registration will also be accepted for individual sessions The first session on April 9. "Conserving Your Assets," will help adults maximize their available financial resources to provide retirement income to meet the changing finan cial needs of retirement The class will be updated on changes in social security income, credit rights, transfer of property and legal rights and how a second marriage can affect the transfer of assets and property "EATING WELL," the second session on April 16. will deal with changes in nutritional needs as one ages and changes activitylevel and exercise habits. Class discussion and activities will focus on the proven connection between longevity, diet and regular exercise Maintenance of good health through sound nutritional habits will be emphasized "Looking Your Best." the topic for April 23. will focus on how wardrobe coordination and color selection communicates one's features and then emphasizing the good points and playing down the poor ones Clothing selection strategies for individuals with special fitting problems and limitations will be included in this session.
