News Notes from The Wildwoods Thomas Parsons 729-5768
Reverend Charles Rowe of the Crest Community Church has struck a deal with the Easter Bunny, and the latter will be helping the former raise funds for the church building fund. Mark the date down, as it is a one time engagement. Saturday at the Crest Community Church at 11:30 a.m. After the event the "Bunny" has to get "hoping" (sorry!) as he has much to do for the next morning. The delightful affair is being sponsored by the Crest Community Church Sunday School and it is being offered as Lunch with the Easter Bunny. The event will take place in the church's social hall on Crocus between Pacific and Seaview Avenues. A donation is requested. For those who desire a permanent record of the occasion, the Bunny has agreed to sit for 3x5 color glossies for a fee, with the proceeds going to the building fund As all of this church's activities are well received and equally well attended, they suggest that you call for reservations so as to avoid disappointment. You may do so by calling 729-0755 or 729-3544. THE WILDWOOD CREST Ambulance Corps recently received its new ambulance. The vehicle, designed for all rescue operations, will be used primarily as a transport ve-. hide to assist residents, in need of specific medical attention, while en route to a medical facility. This brings the total vehicular count for the corps to three fully equipped rescue units and one multipurpose emergency vehicle capable of assisting in every type of conceivable situation. Impressive for a corps that has never charged for services, exists on hard work and donations, and is staffed by volunteers — 24 hours a day! And speaking of donations and hard work, the Corps" Auxiliary would like me to remind you that Wednesday, April 24, they will host their annual community luncheon at the corps building, 9300 Pacific Ave. Tickets will be on sale shortly, so plan to attend.! "FISH BOWLS are fish bowls" and they are "things that you do things with at WHITE and BLACK Jean Slacks Culottes Skirts Jumpers BLACK VESTS
Fun Fairs". Last week, I promised to remind you again of the Margaret Mace Fun Fair slated for June l, 1965, just as soon as I found out what "Fish Bowls" were. The answer was rapidly afforded me, hence my equally rapid reminder, to you, of the event: North Wildwood Fun Fair, Saturday, June l, at Margaret Mace School, 12th Avenue between Atlantic and Surf, Sponsored by the HomeSchool Association, and yes, I'll remind you again! • • • Pardon the brief digression, but whatever happened to P.T.A.'s? Every community along Five Mile Beach sports a similar organization but with a different name. Have 4 slept through or become so addled in my youthful thirties, that I I missed the extinction of P.T.A.'s? Granted, the existing organizations are equally effective and certainly serve the same purpose, and it is duly noted that throughout the Island all organizations are very active and should be highly commended for their involvement, but when did the name and/or charter change take place? Fortunately, this change seems to be a rather recent one. Could you imagine Jeanne C.
