COURT HOUSE - The people, organizations, and businesses contributing to the bus trip to the Wilmington V.A Hospital and Vineland Memorial Home Valentine's Day have been extended thanks by Freeholder Gerald M, Thornton. In the illness of John M. Moran, director of the county Veteran's Bureau, the visits to veterans were coordinated by Sonny Jones and John DiFilippo Thornton thanked the Salvation Army for its donation of ditty bags, as well as the county's veterans organizations and auxiliaries.

Canada KO's Tourism Promo Tax WASHINGTON. DC. Congressman Bill Hughes (D-NJ) has announced that Canada has agreed to rescind its controversial tax on tourism literature originating in the United Slates. Hughes said the agreement represents a major victory for Atlantic and Cape May counties and other resort areas which advertise extensively in Canada to promote their tourism industries He noted that the tax rollback was one of several major agreements reached by President Reagan and Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney during their recent two-day summit "I am very pleased that Canada has agreed to rescind this 10 percent tax on tourism literature. " said Hughes, who has been sponsoring legislation in Congress to impose a reciprocal tax on Canada "This, tax has been an unfair burden on our tourism industry in South Jersey ever since it was imposed in 1983." ACC Boosts Tuition Fee MAYS LANDING - Tuition at Atlantic Community College will rise from $29 to $31 a credit hour under the $13.5 spending plan for 1985-86 recently adopted. Included in the budget is $50,000 for establishment of a Cape May branch campus. Under the plan, the general fee will also be increased. from $4.25 to $4.50. At a recent meeting of the board of trustees. Harry Kramer of Philadelphia was appointed director of the new Business and Human Resources Center.
