Cape-Atlantic City Bus Trip, Sped Up

NEWARK - NJ TRANSIT has announced a revised schedule offering faster trip times for the new Cape May-Atlantic City bus service which began Saturday, April 6. The trip time for the entire route from Cape May City to Atlantic City will be about 90 minutes and the service from Wildwood will take under oen hour. "We speeded up the No. 102 Line service in response to concerns expressed about the running - times originally proposed.' said NJ TRANSIT Executive Director Jerome C. Premo. "In addition to the faster schedule, we were able to add an extra roundtrip to and from Atlantic City." THE NEW service will operate for a nine-month trial period and will provide nine round-trips daily to serve casino employees and others traveling between Cape May County and Atlantic City. The new No. 102 Cape May-Atlantic City service will open up to residents of Cape May County opportunities for employment .and entertainment in Atlantic City casinos," said premo. "The line is expected lo serve 300 passengers daily by the end of the nine-month trial period."

The communities andlocations to be served will include Cape May City, West Cape May, the Ferry Terminal, North Cape May, Erma, Rio Grande, Wildwood. North Wildwood. Burleigh. Mayville. Court House, the Seaville and Marmora Park/Rides, and Atlantic City. Approximately 1,300 of the 2,100 Cape May County residents employed by Atlantic City casinos will have access to the new service, a study revealed. RUSES ON the new No. 102 line will depart Cape May City at 6:01 a.m., 7:59 a.m., 10:01 a.m., 12:01 p.m., 2:01 p.m., 4:01 p.m., 6:01 p.m., 8:01 p.m., and 10:03 p.m. Buses will leave Atlantic City at 8:20 a.m., 10:20 a.m., 12:20 p.m., 2:20 p.m.. 4:20 p.m., 6:20 p.m., 8:20 p.m., and 10:20 p.m The route for the new service is from Cape May City to West Cape May ; then via Routes 9 and 47 to Wildwood; via Routes 147 and 9 to Court House , to the Garden State Parkway, where the service operates as an express with stops at the Seaville and Marmora Park/Rides, then becomes express to the Atlantic City Expressway for a stop in the Casino Parking Lot and on the final destination of the Atlantic City Municipal Bus Terminal at Arctic and Arkansas Avenues. Film Showing NORTH WILDWOOD - The Coalition Against Rape and Abuse. Inc. (C.A.R.A.) will show the child sexual abuse prevention films "Who Do You Tell" and "When To Say No", to the parents and staff of April 17. at 7:30 p.m Those films are being considered for use in the school
