SJCA Has Winning Month
ERMA — South Jersey Christian Academy's Spelling and Bible Quiz Teams had an excellent month in March with winning performances in two interseholastic competitions. In the Mid-Atlantic Christian School Association regional spelling bee. SJCA's fifth-sixth grade team of Matthew Erasquin and Julie Esher captured first place. They gained this number one position in a competition against 16 other schools in a recent MACSA bee at Lighthouse Christian Academy in Manahawkin. SJCA Principal Charles Woods praised the youngsters' top finish, noting that it is SJCA's first victory ever in the competition. IN INDIVIDUAL competition (involving over 30 students from the 17 schools), Julie placed third overall, and Matthew came in eighth. SJCA's Bible Quiz Team won a second place trophy in a recent competition involving southern New Jersey Christian schools. The team includes cocaptains Julie Esher and David Offerdahl, and members Cinnamon Kelly, Jason Newell. Jason Ricketts, and Heather Holy Spirit Lutheran VILLAS - The Easter theme continues at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Bayshore Road and Washington Avenue, Villas, this Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service with the sermon, "Testifying to the Resurrection", based on Acts 4:33.
