Rio Grande Builds Lead in Volleyball

CAPE MAY - Rio Grande Buildmg Materials strengthened its hold on first place by winning three of four games against Cape May Mobile Estates in coed recreation volleyball action. Mobile Estates took the third game 16-14 while Rio Grande took games one, two and four by scores of 15-6. 15-11 and 15-10 Twelve consecutive serves by Bud Bowman led Rio Grande in the first game. Nice saves and good net coverage by Marty Franco and Fran Vogel led Rio Grande in the second game. The serves of Chuck Crossan and Diane Carson led Mobile Estates to its only win of the evening. Rio Grande took the final game behind the play of Fran Vogel. PETE'S RACQUET Club evened its record on the season as it defeated the Bijou Brats by 15-13. 15-3, 15-5 and 15-12. Pete's took a close first game despite fine efforts from Bijou's Joe Fowler and Craig Mericle. The serves of Judy Ricco

and Mike John led Pete's to an easy win in the second game. The hustle and bumps of Cathie Smith led her team in the third game. The excellent serves of Linda Martin of Pete's Racquet Club and Roxanne Krivitski of the Bijou Brats made the game close, with the Racquet Club prevailing at the end.
