county Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented to Thomas Carroll, MAC president, and Michael Zuckerman. executive director, at a recent meeting of the chamber's board of directors at the Atlas Motor Inn here. Also attending were Karen Andrus, vice president, and Winnie O'Brien, secretary of MAC. IN MAKING the presen tation, the chamber cited MAC for adding to the pre and post season economy of the Lower Cape/Cape May City area by promoting the area's cultural resources so as to benefit the area's economy substantially Soon after its founding as a non-profit organization in 1970, said the chamber, MAC began to extend the tourist season beyond the traditional Labor Day cutoff by sponsoring such events as Victorian

Weekend and the Deadly Dungeon in October and the Candlelight House Tour at the end of December. IN 1981, MAC stretched the season in the opposite direction, declared the chamber, when it instituted its annual Quilt and Decoy Show on Memorial Day weekend. In the past two years, it continued, MAC moved ahead to a full year-round schedule, with the extension, in 1983, of Weekend Trolley, Physick Estate and Walking Tours from the summer through to the end of the year. The trend was accelerated in 1984, says the chamber, with the introduction of the Combination Trolley/Physick Estate winter tour package. Also in 1984, the traditional October Victorian weekend was expanded to a 10-day Victorian Week.
