POLITICAL SCENE
VINELAND - Peter Amico, Democratic candidate for General Assembly, speaking to members of the N.J. AIR (N.J. Auto Insurance Reform) in Pennsville. said, "New Jersey, the safest state, has the highest auto insurance cost. The "insurance reform" recently put into law is a farce. It does nothing to lower the cost of insurance. "Our legislators shifted the blame to auto repair shops, doctors, medical cost, and fraudulent claims Homeowners and hosts were made liable for damages caused by drinkers. Now everybody can sue everybody." WILDWOOD CREST - George Denham, chairman of the borough's zoning board of adjustment, has entered the race for a seat on the borough commission in the upcoming municipal election. Denham charges that the current borough budget offers a two-cent election year tax decrease by
depleting the borough's non-recurring surplus derived from the sale of borough land. The candidate, who is the father of six and lives on Newark Avenue, said he supports maintaining the present Crest Pier site as a recreation center for community and tourismrelated activities. He does not support reintroduction of a beach fee Ordinance, which was rejected on referendum before, he said. WILDWOOD - Republican Assemblymen Guy Muziani and Joseph Chinnici have today that they will both be seeking re-election in the Cape May-Cumber-land First District. Muziani. of this community, will be seeking his third term in the Assembly. "We hope the Republicans of both Cumberland and Cape May counties will support us," said Chinnici. a resident of Bridgeton and a 14-year veteran in the Assembly. WILDWOOD CREST - Robert E. Young, running mate of incumbent Frank McCall in the borough commission election, has assailed Commissioners Charles Guhr and Mayor John Pantalone for what he says is "stalling" on enactment of an ordinance to curb condominium construction in the borough. "Is there a plan to delay such an ordinance until after the election?" asks Young. If this is the case, he says, the public will not have the chance to hold the commissioners responsible for their actions. WILDWOOD CREST - Recognizing the "emotion and nostalgia" involved in the fate of the Crest Pier, one slate in the municipal election next month has ledged to make no decision on a recreation program and the pier "until the mandate of the people is obvious and understood. That pledge made by the Guhr-Pantalone-Strair ticket in the borough commission race, over the signature of Dr. Harvey Strair. The statement also Says that the three will discuss the issue with the master planner hired by the borough before reaching a decision about the pier Ends Training NORTH WILDWOOD - Navy Seaman Apprentice Joseph P.
