Many severe back problems originate with or are aggrevated by slippery streets and sidewalks that make walking a hazard. Ice, snow or any slick or wet surface may cause people to slip and fall, or almost fall. Whatever the cause, the result is often a sore back. A slip that causes wrenching of the back may result in over-stretching of muscles and ligaments. 739 Washington Street
This in turn can cause a spinal misalignment or. equally serious, the aggravation of any minor misalignment that may have been present for some time. . Chiropractic spinal manipulation is an effective treatment for such types of injuries. Joe Flynn, Ann and Charlie Rupinski, and Ann and Walt Lewandowski. WE LOST two good buddies this year. Bill Murphy was stricken the day before he and Cass were leaving for St. Pefe's. Bill Daniels died suddenly in March; Marie remains at their home in Spring Hill. Rose and Herb Guttman
made Key Large their abode again, and Bette White spent some time in Vero Beach. (Hey, why don't you scoot over to the Suncoast sometime? ) Your presence would have made a grand total of 102! We were a pretty healthy bunch this year; hope the Lord lets us do it again.
Club Wins 2, Loses 3, Ties 1
DEL HAVEN - What started out as a winning weekend for the Cape Express Soccer Club ended up a bit less as teams won two, lost three and tied one. Saturday found the under-14 Rovers I welcoming the Freedom, N.J. players down to the Express fields on Bayshore Road only to send them sadly home with a 3-2 defeat. Former Rovers' goalie Paul O'Brien acrounted for two scores while Eddie Edwards tapped in the third. Assists were credited to Paul Shoczolek, Gary Fitz, Eddie Edwards and Paul O'Brien.
Sunday saw the second Express vvictory as the under-16 Rovers II traveled to Northfield and tripped up the "home" team 4-2. Tim Kirsch, assisted by Matt Woolley, placed the ball-in-goal from 25 yards down field, then Tim Gallagher used Pete Pietras's help to place the second score, while David Dills added his shot to the list assisted by Robbie Heritage and finally Norman Brion aided Jim Nuss in putting his first New Jersey ball-in-net. COACH WALLY PORTER attributes his victory to brilliant defensive plays by Eddie Garvin, Chris Dailey, Greg Lathbury and Goalie Bill Sheets. The Express under-14 Midnight Special played "host" in Del Haven to the team from Hamilton Township; the result was a 1-1 tie. Jason Burke, off a cross by Keith Kirsch. placed the Express goal, while defensive techniques by goalie Robbie Petersen, Justin Kurtz and Paul Pietras held the opposition to the single score. Then the sun stopped shinning on the Express and it was more than just the weather. The under-14 Rovers I awaited Vineland . at Del Haven and the visitors walked away with a 4-3 victory. Despite the Rovers outshooting opponents 27 shots-on-goal to the
Vineland team's eight shots-on-goal, the ball just wouldn't find its way into the net. Scores by Kris Ekstrom, Paul O'Brien and Eddie Edwards, off assists by such players as John Leahy, just weren't enough to bring Vineland down. The fields were then taken over by the under- 12 Silver Streak and the team from Cohannsey. Robert Quinn, with the aid of Billy Bailey, tacked up the Express single score and sent the visitors home with a 3-1 victory. The youngest Express Team, the under-10 Golden Flyer spent Sunday travel-
ing to Upper Township and a 3-0 shut-out. Although t^e Flyer showed solid efforts, it was just out maneuvered by Upper. During game time next Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., the Express will be holding a giant yard sale adjacent to the Del Haven fields. Clinic Set On Soccer CAPE MAY - The city will sponsor a one week soccer clinic 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. Monday, July 8, through Friday, July 12, at the Lower Cape May Regional High School.
