MID-APRIL. The weather's getting better and better; the hours of daylight are getting longer. Ah, the April morn ... no wonder poets find so much to romanticize about this month. Speaking of romance, love seems to bloom this month as much as the flowers do. The warming days (and the warming evenings, ahem ! > heighten love's emotions. Sunlight, moonlight, bird songs and buds — all go together in April. Babies start appearing in . April too, bundled and cozied in their carriages pushed by proud mamas. Fruit blooms will be gorgeous before long — look for the bloom of the plum trees first. Then peaches, pears and cherries When it comes to flowers, ' we know what we like. Ditto restaurants. By purchasing only the freshest ingredients and sending them out from the kitchen when they're at the peak of flavor. We enjoyed an imcomparable whole live steamed lobster platter last weekend for the low, low price of just $12.95. Every mouthful was a treat to us. Brian's Place is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinner is served daily from 4 to 9 p.m. COUNTRY HOUSE. The Country House Restaurant on U.S. Rt. 9, Burleigh is that red-shingled structure one mile south of Exit 8 of the Garden State Parkway. Their are mid week specials for diners who like a fine dinner before the weekend crowd travels to this popular restaurant We're especially fond of the poultry dishes and like to start our dinner with a bowl of the tasty, homemade soup. The desserts? Our favorite is a wedge of freshly baked pie that the Country House is noted for. GOLDEN INN.
