Sturdy Gives Out Flowers

STONE HARBOR - The big Easter giveaway at the five Sturdy Savings and Loan Association offices in the county brightened 40 homes with flowers. Recipients of the seasonal blooms were chosen by

way of a drawing. John Armour, president of Sturdy, explained that coupons for the flowers were made available to customers for a two-week period before Easter at Sturdy's offices in Stone Harbor, Avalon, Court House, North Cape May and Dennisville. A few days before Easter, the flowers were put on display. "THE EASTER flower giveaway is our way of sharing with our customers some of the beauty of the

season," Armour said. The 1985 winners, listed by office, are: Avalon: Cathy Barron, Bonnie Bender, Laura Garofalo, Kay Meyer, Bob Millar, Jessie Price, George Robinson, and Judy Steck. Court House: Stella De Genova, Kay Dougherty, Sharon Hughes, John N. MacLeod, Maddie McNichol, Diane Saunders, Annette Smith, and Sandra Stites. AVALON — A speaker from MA'DD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) will be featured at the May general meeting of the Avalon Chamber of Commerce. Four new members were recently received into the chamber. They are: Brian Flynn of Brian's Place, Ed Meehan of Avalon Honda. Barbara Schreckengaust of the William Ris Galleries, Milt Kuhn of Hudanich Realty, and Harry A. Keen Jr., new owner of Avalon Plumbing. CAPTAIN JERRY Hurd of the Miss Avalon will treat the chamber to a cruise in the back baywaters 6:30-8 p.m. June 15. Capt. Neil Greenberg and his wife, Becky, will run \ the "fishing context". Food ^nd beverages will run the "fishing context". Food and beverages will be provided. The chamber's second annual baseball game, East Side vs. West Side (of Dune Drive), will be held 5 p.m. July 21 at the 12th Street field. It is hoped that every business in town will have at least one representative on the team. Call Miriam at 967-3001 with , choice of position to play.
