RESCUER HONORED — Coast Guard Auxiliarist John Cogan of Strathmere recently received Coast Guard Letter of Appreciation for assistance given a recreational boater who broke his neck diving off his vessel in Ludium Bay last year.

Drive , To Benefit Retarded WILDWOOD - In conjunction with observance of National Volunteer Week, the local Knights of Columbus will conduct a campaign at the local Acme, Shop Rite and Superfresh food stores to raise money for retarded citizens Friday, Saturday, and Sunday., This was designated as Volunteer Week by proclamation of the K.C. Supreme Council, sent out by Virgil C. Dechant, supreme knight. The proclamation points out that in the past 10 years members of -tate and local councils have collected and disbursed more than $300 million to charitable and benevolent causes, and spent more than 80 million man hours in volunteer service. Davis, son of Charles H. and Nettie Davis of 306 Monroe Ave., has graduated from the U.S. Air Force inventory management course at Lowry Air Force Base, Colo. Davis is scheduled to serve at Keflevik Air Base. Iceland. He is a 1984 graduate of Millville Senior High School.
