Rabies Clinic May 11 WILDWOOD - Gordon Ball, city purchasing agent, has announced that a free public rabies clinic will be held at the Maintenance Building, Hudson and Schellenger avenues, 1:30 p.m. May 11. Dr. G. Belloff, a local veterinarian, will conduct the clinic. Pet owners need not be city residents. The only requirement is that a short certificate be completed by the owner and that the animals be controlled either by a short leash or in a cage. A VALID vaccination certificate is required prior to obtaining a dog license. Puppies must be vaccinated at one year old, at two years old, and then at three-year intervals. Cats must be vaccinated every year. According to the National Center for Disease Control, more cases of cats' having rabies have been reported than in dogs for the last four years. For this reason it is vital that cats also be brought in. Dr. Belloff noted that locally rabies cases have been increasing over the past few years, with many cases of rabbits, squirrels and other wild animals being reported. This will be the primary rabies clinic for residents of Wildwood and the Borough of West Wildwood, although all are welcome from other municipalities.
