Champagne Fling XIV On May 19

AVALON - Richard Bey, star of Philadelphia's "People Are Talking", will be the special guest host of the Champagne Fling XIV. This fund-raising event, which benefits the American Cancer Society, will be 3-7 p.m. May 19, at the Golden Inn.

Last year's proceeds exceeded $28,000. Chairmen Pam Jones and Jan Ross stress that this event represents the efforts of many energetic and talented county residents THE HIGHLIGHT of the day is an auction of 80 unusual .gift packages.

Auction ohairmen Cherry Ziegler and Suzanne Brown urge county business owners to participate by donating a gift unique to their business or service. Last year, more than 100 businesses donated items wlpich included antiques, fine.^jothing. sporting goods, landscape pieces, dinners and many more. Festivities include freeflowing champagne, hors d'oeuvres, door prizes, dancing and music by "Now and Then". Reserved seating is available for $100 a couple and general admission tickets are $18.
