Surfing Test Won By National Team

AVALON - Dean Randazzo of the NSSA National Team led a 1,2,3, sweep of the men's division of the Avalon Open surf contest, with fellow National Team members Bruce Beach and Tom O'Brian in second and third respectively. Conditions were marginal as the event began at 7:30 with clean two-foot waves and clean mild weather, but a stiff northeast wind developed as the event ran on, chopping up the waves and adding to the skill level required. DAVE STUMPFIG was the winner of the Junior Men's division as Bill McCardell's late charge fell short of victory. In the Ladies division, newcomer Teresa Town won easily over Lisa Armstrong. The Boys' division went to Steve Howard.

The Kneeboard event was another National Team benefit as Tom O'Brian showed why he is undefeated in the last three NSSA open events in the Kneeboard. Full Results : MENS' Dean Randazzo, Bruce Beach.
