"Ridership oh routes 115C-115S, currently averaging 19 one-way passengers per day, has been very light since the service was implemented, and all passengers using these lines will now have some alternate form of transportation available to them," said John P. Sheridan Jr.. Commission of Transportation and chairman of the NJ TRANSIT board of directors. THE NEW shuttle, operating one peak period | bus. will save one bus dur ing each peak period and allow the retention of most |* of the existing riders and I revenue from the current ' service at the lowest i operating cost." ficials requested that NJ TRANSIT consider this option at a public hearing we conducted last month." , In recommending the alternative approved, Cape May area passengers would have nine minutes added to their trip in each direction to facilitate the transfer at Marmora. "We will ensure that our riders have sufficient time to transfer between the shuttle bus and No. Ill express bus in the morning and evening." Premo said. NJ TRANSIT will examine the performance of the new No. 115M shuttle in the fall to determine whether the service should continue beyond December.
